Senior HR CONSULTANT - RACE | DIGITAL ANALYTICS

I joined the RACE team and program when it was 700 people. Now known as Digital Analytics, that team is part of the Technical group comprised of Digital Analytics, Digital Systems, Technical Services and Enterprise Improvement Planning, Autonomy and Innovation. RACE is Teck’s Digital Transformation program and the Digital Analytics (DA) group is a key contributor to RACE and acts as an enabler of innovation and digital transformation for the mining industry. DA’s functions include Software Development, Data Science, Architecture, Platform, Operations, Product Development, Delivery and Customer Success and Support.

My role has changed over time, but essentially, I am the HR workstream lead overseeing People, Change, Engagement and Office Services for Digital Analytics.

In his 18 months with us, Kraig provided strategic input to our digital strategy with exceptional insight and knowledge of how to build and run a SaaS business. His strategic contributions were transformative, seamlessly integrating HR tactics into our digital framework. Freshlocal (TSX: LOCL) is a 1000-person Vancouver-based company that is building a leadership position in the provision of end-to-end grocery e-Commerce solutions. The Company operates two primary businesses, FoodX (B2B) and eGrocery (B2C), both of which support its corporate mission to innovate food systems for people, planet and prosperity. FoodX is Freshlocal's scalable end-to-end SaaS-based eGrocery Management Solution (eGMS) which is designed to meet the needs of large and small grocery retailers while providing profitable unit economics. The company’s retail and eGrocery business has expanded into one of Canada's largest online grocery companies, with a focus on delivering fresh, local, organic produce and groceries, along with exceptional customer experiences. I joined Freshlocal as a Chief People Consultant and was brought onboard TFT as SVP, People with the mandate to move from an under-resourced, administrative HR function to a strategic, proactive scalable People team to meet the growing needs of all business units and prepare for global expansion into Europe. This function included People Partners, Program development and management, Health, Safety and Benefits, Talent Acquisition, and HR systems configuration and implementation.

Kraig joined Freshlocal to build out our people team and strategy, and to elevate our culture when it comes to valuing and supporting our people. He was able to guide us in a transformation from a small, administrative, and tactical people team, to one that offers strategic, and proactive people partnership support and programs. Kraig puts team member experience and communication at the forefront of everything that he does, and this influence was seen at all levels of our Company from executive to team member on the floor. Numinus (TSX.V: NUMI) is a mental health and wellness company creating an ecosystem of solutions centred around safe, evidence-based accessible psychedelic-assisted psychotherapy to help people heal and be well.

Initially joining Numinus as an Advisor then moving full time as Chief People Officer, I was responsible for the full scope of the people operations function across all our locations. This included strategy, communications, program development, employee relations, coaching, talent acquisition, culture development, organizational design & change, performance & goals management and learning and development

Kraig was part of Numinus since the very early days and was instrumental in building the company to what it is today. Not only was he a coach to the executive team and I, he also put in place the necessary HR and people infrastructure to set us all up for success which included taking the company public in May 2020. As we acquired locations, he also brought together geographically and culturally diverse teams to be one - the Numinus family. Kraig has left behind an impactful legacy and he will be missed.
